Gamma Chapter History

Timeline of Events


Gamma Chapter is established on September 16th, 2001 by seven gentlemen at UNLV, becoming the first Latino-based college fraternity in the state of Nevada.


During Hispanic Heritage Month, Gamma Chapter is publicly recognized for the first time for its achievements. The chapter receives the Outstanding Student Activities Award from UNLV CSUN Student Government.
Gamma Chapter helps establish the Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) at UNLV.
Gamma Chapter's Adriel Espinoza (ΓC Γ) is elected Student Body President.


Gamma Chapter reaches out to economically underprivileged students at Orr Middle School through its mentoring program, Students Dedicated to Achieve (SDA). The program is coordinated by Brother Francisco González (ΓC Α).


Gamma Chapter wins UNLV Greek Week's 1st Place Overall Award for the first time.


Brother Anthony Anguiano (ΓC Θ) organizes Gamma Chapter's first Sigma Week, held during the second week of October. Sigma Week is a week-long series of philanthropy events, as a part of Gamma Chapter's new philanthropy, Go Nutz for ΣΔΑ.


Gamma Chapter's first annual Alumni vs. Undergrads Sports Challenge is held on July 23rd. Sports played include flag football, sand volleyball, and basketball.
In the latter half of the year, ΣΔΑ Alumni Association, Southern Nevada Chapter, Inc. is established by Gamma Chapter alumni.
